Dear TCA Subscribers,
When we last communicated with you back on May 19, 2020, we noted the great uncertainty facing us from the scourge of COVID-19. It was our hope that clarity would emerge over the summer months that would allow us, in some form, to present our 66th consecutive season for you, our cherished subscribers, in a way that would still have a ring of familiarity.
Unfortunately, we have come to the conclusion that we must cancel our season for 2020-21. The way forward for indoor entertainment venues seating hundreds of people, even socially distanced, remains clouded with uncertainty. In the end, and after many hours of discussing alternatives and possible paths forward, a decision was finally made.
But all is not lost, even for this year! We will be presenting throughout the year, at no charge to you, a series of six (6) high-definition pre-recorded concerts featuring musicians from the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. These concerts will be available for you to view, through our website, Wednesday through Sunday, at the end of the months of September, October, November, February, March, and April. We expect these concerts to be of the highest standards, not just with respect to the music and the artists presented, but in production quality. We hope you will enjoy them— and it is our expectation that they will make this time when we cannot gather for live music go more quickly.
We will stay in touch with you with plans for 2021-22. In the meantime, let’s all stay strong, stay safe, and be optimistic!
Our sincerest best wishes,
Kymric Y. Mahnke
P.S. The video concerts noted above are available on our website for anyone. So please tell your friends, and give them a taste of how great it is to be a TCA subscriber!
